TASC, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Professional to work in Northern Virginia for professional services and solutions delivery for its Space market portfolio. The successful candidate will have broad business development experience in the Space marketplace and possess a strong understanding of our customers and their hard technical problems, with particular emphasis on DoD (Air Force and Navy) space communities in the Washington DC area, Denver and Colorado Springs, CO, and Albuquerque, NM. The Business Development Professional will identify, qualify, and win opportunities to deliver the highest caliber of engineering services and solutions to prospective Space customers. This individual will report directly to TASC's Vice President for Space Systems Sector Growth and be directly responsible for developing and implementing a program for maintaining customer relationships, shaping specific market segments and targets, exposing potential clients to the full range of TASC capabilities, and combining all of these to win new business. .The individual selected for this high profile role is expected to bring knowledge of the client organizations, buying practices, key personnel, competitive environment, strategic alignment assessment, and industry, both competitors and prospective partners. In addition to sustaining existing customer relationships, the Business Development Professional will identify new areas within DoD Space markets that TASC can grow in the next 1-5 years, qualify those potential opportunities, develop business cases and strategies to reach these markets, successfully execute those strategies, and actively support capture and proposal development. An existing network of business relationships and the ability to forge new partnerships with clients and industry partners is key, so the candidate must have a demonstrated record of success doing similar work. Responsibilities: Lead Business Development efforts in the DoD Space marketplace, one of TASC's most critical business areas. This includes identifying and creating new business opportunities, building the necessary business case to qualify each opportunity, and supporting follow-on capture and proposal activities. Extensive research and writing is required, in additional to customer and competitor liaison. Practical experience working capture and proposals is a major plus. Provide creative thinking on win strategy, competitive positioning, acquisition shaping, market investments, win strategy, themes and discriminators. Plan and implement go-to-market plans to enter areas adjacent to existing TASC space business. Maintain the company business opportunity knowledge base and meet standards for pipeline development size and velocity. Conduct extensive interface with the customer and industry partners. Provide customer context to corporate solutions development to ensure that TASC R&D; meets real customer needs. Propose ways to effectively use corporate resources (B&P;, IRAD, special funding, facilities, demonstrations, etc.) to win new business. Conduct collaboration across TASC sectors to cross-market TASC capabilities and qualifications.The qualified candidate will meet the following requirements: More than 10 years of experience in business development within DoD Space communities. Additional experience working in a non-business development capacity on site as a government employee, military, or contractor is a major plus. A Bachelors degree in a technical discipline or, in lieu of a technical degree, demonstrated ability to work with clients and contractors on business initiatives with very high degree of technical content. Established relationships within DoD Space markets. A well-developed network of professional relationships in the Washington Metropolitan Area space community is a major plus. Possess knowledge of Federal procurement process and applicable customer agencies' budget processes. Proven ability to work with capture managers and on proposal teams to achieve outstanding results that lead to wins. Excellent customer facing skills, briefing, writing, and presentation skills Active TS/SCI security clearance, Polygraph is a significant plus. Ability to travel as required for customer engagement and to represent TASC nationallyQualified candidate will possess the following Characteristics or Skills: Superior understanding of how DoD Space customers implement their buying preferences, and proven ability to demonstrate the value of a company's capabilities to those customers . Strategic thinking and decision making to maximize probability of win Creative thinking on competitive positioning, win strategy, themes and discriminators Leadership, mentoring and strong communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective industry alliances Extensive understanding of how industry develops and delivers solutions and services through capture and proposal development A high degree of flexibility and the ability to work effectively both as BD lead in the early phases of opportunity development and as an enabling resource for later capture and proposal phases Proficient in basic writing and chart-making skills to prepare documentation needed for gate reviews and artifacts to support capture and proposal developmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
