Sr. Digital Signal Processing Engineer
KBR is seeking a highly motivated Engineer with experience in digital signal processing/analysis.
The successful candidate will have an engineering degree and experience with using numerical tools to analyze the performance of systems generating digital signals.
The job will include technical assessment of optical sensor subsystem architecture trades, design trade studies, and performance evaluations.
Responsibilities:
Develop and apply software tools in MATLAB to calculate pertinent product metrics like SNR, optical blur response, sensor motion, collection quantity, circular error, and atmosphere impactsOrganize results in database products, software packages and PowerPoint slides and present findings to stakeholdersLearning and developing a thorough understanding of MATLAB code/scripts used to model electro-optical system components including but not limited to focal planes, optics and atmosphericsSet up and execution of MATLAB based models, reviewing and error checking model resultsBe accessible to senior engineers, customers and stakeholders to answer questions and report on progressBe accountable in the management of projects to ensure that products are delivered according to schedule and the engineering analysis is correct.
Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline10-15 years' experienceExperience with MATLAB signal processing capabilities and Fast Fourier transforms (FFTs)Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skillsSelf-starter who can partner with multiple teammates
Qualifications:
Masters in EngineeringExperience with low earth orbiting sensor systemsDomain expertise in GEOINT space systemExposure to the system design trade process, assessing system design options, analyzing mission requirements, monitoring vehicle development and test, conops development, and tracking requirement verificationSpecific knowledge of the NRO and its processesSecurity Clearance:
Must have an Active Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI).
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
