Veraxx Engineering Corporation, a By Light Company is an engineering services company supplying modeling, simulation, and training solutions.
Services include hardware, software, and system engineering, requirements assessments, system development, integration, testing, documentation, and customer support services.
Veraxx has a high level of expertise in flight simulation hardware and software development, as well as computer architecture, tactical environments, interoperability (HLA/DIS), avionics systems, graphics and real-time embedded systems.
Candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of flight simulators and develop/integrate software in areas such as avionics, tactical environments, interfaces to audio, visual, motion, and I/O systems, and Instructor Operator Stations (IOS).
Software development is primarily done in the Linux and Windows operating systems using a variety of languages (C/C++, Ada, FORTRAN, C#).

Responsibilities:
Principal Software Engineers at Veraxx are the most senior S/W developers typically responsible for the lead S/W role on a project and/or expert in a specific software system.
As a Lead S/W Engineer a principal S/W Engineer is responsible for overall S/W architecture and development in support of a flight simulation project.
Lead S/W engineers work closely with Project Managers and Systems Engineers to define S/W tasks, schedules and budgets.
Lead S/W Engineers will lead small teams throughout all phases of a project including requirements analysis, design, development and test.
Lead S/W Engineers provide support and guidance to subordinates to ensure successful project execution with a focus on quality, schedule and budget.
Principal S/W Engineers can also be experts in a specific application or software field such as graphics development, real-time programming, video stream, etc.
Assist project management as appropriate and provide task-oriented supervision to subordinate staff.
Provide expert analysis of complex engineering-related problems.
Design S/W architectures for overall systems.
Manage the technical and/or administrative aspects of a project.
Prepare technical reports identifying results of technical studies and makes recommendations on appropriate actions to take.
Interface with customers including presentations of software designs at customer reviews.
Ability to lead teams of 5-10 S/W developers in support of projects through all phases of projects including requirements analysis, design, development and test.
Review work of subordinate personnel; provide guidance and training where appropriate.
Provide technical input and budget for S/W tasks in proposal efforts.
Required Experience/
Qualifications:
BS/MS Engineering, Hard Sciences or Computer Science and 10
years SWE experience Ability to develop in multiple languages including:
C, C++, FORTRAN, or Ada Proficient in Visual Studio IDE, GCC compilers / Makefiles Proficient in Windows, UNIX/Linux Software Engineering Concepts & Processes Preferred Experience/
Qualifications:
Knowledge of object-oriented design concepts Knowledge of flight simulation Knowledge of real time programming Knowledge of military aircraft systems and avionics a plus.
Knowledge of networking Special Requirements/Security Clearance:
Must have or be able to obtain a Secret DOD clearance.
