Systems Engineer, SME
Duties/Tasks and
Responsibilities:
These individuals are thought leaders and experts in their area of expertise-hardware, electrical, systems, integration-who can derive requirementsand specifications, perform tradeoff analysis, and contribute to technical documentation and deliverables.
They'll work across the broader team toensure components and capabilities are delivered on time.
Responsible for applying interdisciplinary engineering skills in the technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and riskand supportability and effectiveness analyses for complex solutions or products.
Analyzes are performed at all levels of total system product to include:
concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into technical solutions and continuously validate those solutions through delivery.
Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Providesstrategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for mission critical challenges/issues.
