Tax Analyst I

OverviewThis position is responsible for the to assist with the preparation of assigned tasks for Federal, state and foreign tax compliance, income tax provision, and special projects.
Responsibilities Assist and prepares state tax workpapers for annual returns, including state modifications and apportionment calculations.
Assist and prepare quarterly federal, foreign, state tax estimates, extension calculations.
Prepare foreign and state tax payment vouchers.
Assists with quarterly and annual income tax provision.
Analyzes and reconciles income tax accounts monthly; Assist with resolution of any unreconciled differences.
Gather data to prepare state apportionment calculation.
Assist and prepare book-tax difference calculations, both permanent and deferred.
Ties-out deferred tax asset/liability balances.
Prepare tax related journal entries with support for approval.
Assists with management testing of internal control procedures.
Prepares miscellaneous non-income tax returns, including gross receipts, sales and use tax, unclaimed property and personal property returns.
Research and documents income and non-income tax issues as instructed.
Completes tax research and other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's Degree - Accounting or related field.
Experience:
Zero (0) three (3) years tax analysis experience.
Zero (0) - two (2) years of tax experience at a Big 4 or equivalent corporate experience, including experience in tax provision (ASC 740) and tax compliance preferred.
Federal and state compliance and knowledge of tax accounting (ASC 740) preferred.
Experience in a federal contracting environment preferred.
Software experience preferred:
Thomson OneSource tax software, including OTP and OIT.
Hyperion (or another general ledger accounting system).

3 days in office and 2 days remote Skills and Technology Used:
Strong computer skills with MS office software, especially Microsoft Excel.
Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task while working under tight deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Personal computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
