Regional Corporate Relations supports the strategic communication needs of the regional operations of the Allstate Auto, Home and Agency business. Employees in this job family focus on aligning and engaging employees and agency owners on the strategy and tactics needed to support the business objectives of the Allstate brand. Externally, this job carries the responsibility of maintaining and enhancing the Allstate brand by protecting Allstate's reputation while driving consideration through the value of Allstate's local presence.
A Corporate Relations Regional Senior Consultant completes project work, develops with guidance communication strategies and implements plans for the Corporation and the region. The outcomes of their work are focused on improving the internal and external reputation of Allstate across the region by building relationships, reinforcing key messages and producing a favorable business environment with key shareholders - including the media; community, political and regulatory leaders; customers and engaged consumers and Allstate agency owners and employees.

Responsibilities:
With minimal direction, works with regional CR leadership to create internal / external communication plans that considers all stakeholders and aligns them with corporate and regional priorities, messaging and business objectives.
With minimal direction, implements and measures internal/external communication plans to ensure integration and message consistency among all regional stakeholders.
Develops strategic communications to help drive engagement, line of sight and culture change among regional internal/external stakeholders.
Proactively identifies emerging and existing issues that may have an impact on overall business performance and reputation of Allstate.
With minimum guidance implements event/project management for The Allstate Foundation, Corporate Social Responsibility, Media, the achievement of key business unit objectives, etc.
Builds and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and where applicable, begin to manage vendor partners.
## Qualifications
5 to 7 years in a communications role
Insurance and financial services business acumen preferred
Bachelor degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field
Business Acumen : Knowledge of Allstate's organization, policies and procedures in order to apply understanding to communication efforts developed as part of the function's responsibilities. Knowledge of the insurance and financial services industry.
Writing: Knowledge and application of the Associated Press (AP) Style Guide and Allstate Brand Voice in order to prepare communications for a variety of vehicles and stakeholders. Develops error-free basic and complex written communications that meet requirements/needs and demonstrates consistent correct usage of grammar and punctuation. Successfully copy edits CR team members and other regional partners' communications.
Creative Thinking : Generates innovative solutions to address client / company issues, presents solutions clearly, enhances existing ideas to maximize opportunities for clients, and supports a creative, innovative environment.
Consulting: Experience with identifying and recommending opportunities for client, proposes and probes implications of alternative strategies.
Team Skills: Ability to create cooperative atmosphere to foster teamwork; helps facilitate conversations so all points of view are considered, puts work, team or organizational goals ahead of individual issues, begins to exhibit leadership skills and maintains diplomacy in pressure or conflict situations.
Project Management: Develops work plans to organize project into tasks, sequences activities to achieve maximum efficiency, estimates and manages time and budget required to complete tasks. Adjusts plans when issues arise while remaining committed to project deadlines.
Oral and Written Presentation Skills: Able to efficiently create and deliver presentations effectively and with confidence at the client, team and department level. Includes serving as Foundation and/or media spokesperson.
Communication Strategy and Planning: Knowledge of working with competitive analysis/market research, setting objectives, developing measurement and analysis, identifying issues and risks and change management that align with our strategic vision and priorities.
Reputation and Brand Management: Knowledge of identifying reputational risks that could impact overall business performance and Allstate's reputation.
Internal Communication Skills: Experience in developing and implementing internal communication strategies that create an understanding of corporate priorities, providing context on issues and initiatives, building employee/agency engagement, and helping people to understand their role and how it contributes to the success of Allstate.
External Communication
Media Relations: Serves as regional media contact, working with news outlets to place stories that drive local agency presence and enhance Allstate's reputation. Understands when to involve the Issues Management team to appropriately manage potentially adverse public issues that could negatively impact our reputation. Expert with social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, etc.) Competent with media contact databases and pitching sources (e.g. Cession, Hoot Suite, Bitly, etc.)
Issues Management : Knowledge of communicating with key stakeholder groups in a crisis situation and development and maintenance of crisis communication plans.
Government Relations & Public Affairs : Knowledge of developing strategies, material, and message development to support Allstate public policy initiatives along with intelligence gathering on regulatory initiatives that impact our industry. Familiar with teen safe driving and public policy surrounding the issue.

Corporate Social Responsibility : Knowledge of developing CSR strategies and initiatives across the enterprise and implements best practices; works with leadership to develop and manage community involvement strategies related to corporate contributions, multicultural outreach and volunteerism.
Strategic Philanthropy : Assists with managing strategic giving or program budgets against targets; benchmarking best in class philanthropic programs; identifying, establishing and building relationships with key partners and opinion leaders; measuring social impact of programs

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
