ATTORNEY-ADVISOR

The NRO will make selections at the GG-15 level for this position FOR CURRENT CIVILIAN FEDERAL EMPLOYEES APPLYING PLEASE SEE THE QUALIFICATIONS SECTION BELOW. As a ATTORNEY-ADVISOR you will be responsible for the following duties:
Renders written or oral advice, counsel, opinions and decisions on legal matters to agency Directorates and Offices, and senior leadership across the NRO. As an Attorney-Advisor, is a Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the following fields:
acquisition law, administrative law, intelligence law, national security law, international law, information technology law, litigation, ethics, privacy & civil liberties, intelligence oversight, federal employment law, space law, environmental law, or intellectual property law. Provides timely, accurate, and practical legal advice and representation to ensure NRO accomplishes its mission in compliance with applicable laws. The employee performs legal research and writing, counsel clients, and represent the Agency before legal forums. Works cooperatively with others within the office, NRO, the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and the U.S. Government. Renders advice on numerous policy matters of exceptional impo1tance, and legal questions of the highest degree of complexity, often novel in nature, of extremely great diversity and scope, and frequently entailing a high degree of controversy. The employee is instrumental in the formulation of decisions and opinions, in the broadest sense, affecting the success of the NRO mission. The employee is often in the position of speaking authoritatively for the NRO to other agencies of the Executive Branch (particularly NRO mission partners) and Congressional Oversight Committees. This position is an Expert Level DCIPS position. DCIPS Expert Level positions include GG-15. The NRO is accepting applications from U.S. Citizens and current and GS/GG-15 Federal Government employees for this position. Federal government employees, who are currently at a GS/GG-15, or equivalent may ONLY apply for a lateral reassignment at their current grade level, and step. Federal applicants who exceed the advertised grade may voluntarily request acceptance at the lower grade IAW DoDI 1400.25 Volume 2006. This position has a Basic Requirement for the 0905 series:
POSITIVE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
A Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school, and member in good standing of the Bar of the highest court of a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. NOTE:

Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Experience must be reflected in your resume. Specialized experience required for this position is:
Must have professional legal experience (i.e., working as an attorney) in excess of 7 years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of this position. Extensive experience in federal government acquisition law, to include the application of federal government acquisition laws, regulations, processes, policies, and federal court, Government Accountability Office (GAO), and boards of contract appeal precedents and procedures. Experience in advising program offices (government or industry) across all phases of the acquisition process, from strategy development and the source selection process, through contract award, performance, and close out, as well as litigating protests or disputes before GAO, boards of contract appeal, and federal court.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
