Summary:
The ITOC Operator (NOC Engineer) is responsible for the monitoring of mission-critical production systems, identifying Incidents and outages that may lead to downtime or deterioration of an enterprise service, and alerting the corresponding Operations, Engineering and Application support teams of potential issues.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Use various computing and network monitoring tools to detect outages, service disruptions and capacity issues Perform initial Incident triage Perform event correlation Communicate details using established communications protocols Collaborate closely with a NOC/SOC Operations teams, Incident Management, Service Desk, and other production support personnel Requirements:
US Citizen Active Top-Secret level security clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI) from the Dept.
of Defense (DOD), ability to obtain Submit/Pass a 10-year background check, criminal history, drug screening, and fingerprints Valid driver's license/Real-ID with clean driver's history College level coursework in IT or Computer Sciences, Associates degree (AA) minimum required IAT Level-2 technical certification (Security+), required.
Must be obtained within 90 days of hire Applicant must have a strong work ethic, be extremely organized and detail-oriented, be a self-starter with excellent time-management, problem solving, and multitasking skills Additional Requirements:
3 - 5 years' experience in ITOC / NOC / SOC environments Intermediate working knowledge of Server and Network Management Systems, advanced browser-based tools to poll web portals, alerting tools, Security appliances, synthetic transactions and standard SNMP monitoring Experience working with Service Desk ticketing systems, with a heavy emphasis on maintaining tickets Experience working with consolidated logging, alarming, and event correlation at an enterprise level Previous success adhering to ITIL best practices and meeting established Service Level Agreements Experience with both creating and using runbooks for complex troubleshooting procedures Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans Technical background with heavy emphasis on Windows/Linux enterprise Server administration, shell/PowerShell scripting and automation/BOT creation Proven ability to multi-task and follow guidelines and instructions
